Professor Cecilia Chan Ka Yuk

Professor Cecilia Chan is a Professor in Education and was the Founding Director of the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Professor Chan has a dual disciplinary background in Education and Engineering, and is the President of Asian Society for Engineering Education. Her research specialises in the development, assessment and feedback of competencies, as well as research on AI in education. She is also a leader in teaching and learning, represented HKU and various networks and is often invited to present her work internationally. She has presented as a Keynote/invited speaker for over 60 conferences around the world including UNESCO and QS Summit. She is also the Chief Expert of Future Readiness and AI Literacy for UNESCO-ICHEI.
Professor Chan holds a UK Advanced HEA Principal Fellowship and was recently awarded the UGC Excellence Teaching Team Award 2024.

Professor Nancy Law W. Y. is Chair of Learning Sciences and Technology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. She served as the Founding Director for the Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) for 15 years from 1998. She is an elected Fellow of the International Society of the Learning Sciences and is known globally for her expertise in the integration of digital technology in learning and teaching for scalable student-centred pedagogical innovations. She is currently spearheading large projects in three inter-related areas: multilevel network models of leadership for transformative educational integration of digital technology, including Artificial Intelligence as sociotechnical co-evolution, development and implementation of an integrated design-aware learning design and learning analytics pattern language and technology platform (IDEALS), and the investigation of the role of human agency and regulation in student and teacher learning.

Currently she is one of the editors of 華中師範大學台港澳與東亞研究中心《港澳臺教育動態》周刊. Whilst, as the Chairperson of Hong Kong Special Schools Council (HKSSC), she has long been committed to driving continuous innovation in education, especially on promoting diversified educational tools tailored to the needs of special education, and on building a more effective, inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

Having worked in the education sector for many years, Ms. Lee has successively served as the principal of two secondary schools. Currently, as the Head Principal of the Secondary, Primary, and Kindergarten Sections of Kowloon True Light School, Ms. Lee is dedicated to cultivating capable and virtuous talents who are bilingual and have a love for our country. Under her leadership, Kowloon True Light School has received numerous awards in recent years, including the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence and the Outstanding Teaching (Character Education) Awards. Committed to promoting art, literature, and reading, Ms. Lee has served as a consultant for the Hong Kong Book Fair for several years. She has also actively participated in district and education affairs, and previously served as Chairperson of the Kowloon City District School Principals' Liaison Committee. Ms. Lee has received a Commendation Certificate from the Home Affairs Bureau in recognition of her contributions. Professor Nancy Law W. Y. is Chair of Learning Sciences and Technology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. She served as the Founding Director for the Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) for 15 years from 1998. She is an elected Fellow of the International Society of the Learning Sciences and is known globally for her expertise in the integration of digital technology in learning and teaching for scalable student-centred pedagogical innovations. She is currently spearheading large projects in three inter-related areas: multilevel network models of leadership for transformative educational integration of digital technology, including Artificial Intelligence as sociotechnical co-evolution, development and implementation of an integrated design-aware learning design and learning analytics pattern language and technology platform (IDEALS), and the investigation of the role of human agency and regulation in student and teacher learning.

Currently she is one of the editors of 華中師範大學台港澳與東亞研究中心《港澳臺教育動態》周刊. Whilst, as the Chairperson of Hong Kong Special Schools Council (HKSSC), she has long been committed to driving continuous innovation in education, especially on promoting diversified educational tools tailored to the needs of special education, and on building a more effective, inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
In order to foster cross-sector exchange, inspire innovative thinking, and demonstrate how AI can bring transformative breakthroughs to strengthen assistance for teachers and students with special needs, she has initiated different projects concerned, including leading HKSSC to co-host the International Conference on Special Education 2025, centred on the theme ‘Future-Ready Learners: Al in Special Education’, which attracted over 2,000 participating educators, locally and overseas.

Ms. Lee Yi Ying graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she received her BA, MA, and MEd degrees. Having worked in the education sector for many years, Ms. Lee has successively served as the principal of two secondary schools. Currently, as the Head Principal of the Secondary, Primary, and Kindergarten Sections of Kowloon True Light School, Ms. Lee is dedicated to cultivating capable and virtuous talents who are bilingual and have a love for our country. Under her leadership, Kowloon True Light School has received numerous awards in recent years, including the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence and the Outstanding Teaching (Character Education) Awards. Committed to promoting art, literature, and reading, Ms. Lee has served as a consultant for the Hong Kong Book Fair for several years. She has also actively participated in district and education affairs, and previously served as Chairperson of the Kowloon City District School Principals' Liaison Committee. Ms. Lee has received a Commendation Certificate from the Home Affairs Bureau in recognition of her contributions. To further enhance the professional development of the industry, Ms. Lee serves as Chairperson of the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council and as an instructor for the training programme for aspiring principals. In recent years, she has been invited to serve as a member of the Curriculum Development Council of the Education Bureau, a member of the Quality Education Fund Steering Committee, a member of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence Assessment Working Group, Vice Chairperson of the Council of the Professional Committee for Junior Secondary Education of the Chinese Society of Education, and a member of the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health. Professor Joshua Mok obtained his MPhil from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and PhD from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before joining The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong as Provost and Vice President (Academic and Research), he was the Vice President and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Comparative Policy at Lingnan University (Hong Kong). Prior to that, Professor Mok has held leadership positions at various universities, including Vice President (Research and Development) and Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at The Education University of Hong Kong; Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong; and Chair Professor and Founding Director of the Centre of East Asian Studies at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. Most recently, Professor Mok has taken up the role of Deputy Director of the Centre for Global Higher Education based at the University of Oxford, UK. Working closely with partner institutions, namely, University of Oxford, University College London, and University of Birmingham and Lancaster University in the UK, University of Johannesburg in South Africa and Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership, Professor Mok and his research team is actively engaged in promoting higher education and social sciences / humanities research.
