ADVERSE WEATHER NOTICE – LEARNING & TEACHING EXPO
All attendees are requested to note the following emergency measures which will be implemented in the event of adverse weather conditions, such as Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal.
1. Typhoon Signal No.8 or Above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal Hoisted Before Opening Hours
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted before 8:00 on any event day:
- The Expo will remain closed for the whole day, unless the signal is lowered on or before 14:00.
- If the signal is lowered on or before 14:00, the Expo will re-open two hours after the signal is lowered.
- Exhibitors are reminded to re-deploy staff to man their booths before the Expo re-opens to the public.
- The Organiser will issue updates via email, website and social media. Exhibitors may also contact their account manager for more information.
- If the signal is lowered after 14:00, the Expo will remain closed for the day.
On the move-in day:
- The Organisers will continue move-in procedures under acceptable weather conditions, even if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted.
2. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Above Hoisted During the Expo
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is issued during the Expo:
- The Expo will remain open for the remainder of the day unless otherwise advised.
- Hall announcements will be made when information is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
- Attendees are encouraged to leave the venue only when safe and as soon as reasonably practicable.
3. Black Rainstorm Warning Signal Hoisted During the Expo
If Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued during the Expo:
- The Expo will remain open for the remainder of the day unless otherwise advised.
- Attendees are encouraged to remain indoors for their own safety.
- New visitors may still register and enter the venue while the signal is in force.
SPECIAL GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT VISITORS
Before School Hours or Travel to Expo
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted before 08:00:
- All visits for the day should be cancelled.
During the Expo (Students Already at the Event)
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted while students are at the Expo:
- Students should remain indoors at the venue for their safety.
- Teachers or Parents should supervise students and avoid attempting to leave the venue until it is safe.
- The Organisers will provide guidance and updates to school representatives.
For School Groups and Teachers
- Visitors should monitor the weather updates closely before departure.
- School Groups and Teachers should make contingency plans in accordance with EDB Guidelines.
- School Groups and Teachers should ensure that parents are informed of any changes in arrangements due to weather conditions.
